# Appfarm’s built-in Maps Satellite layer

Is it possible to have a satellite layer in Appfarm’s built-in Maps without using Mapbox?

Hi,
I do not believe this is possible without using Mapbox. In order to add a satellite layer do the following:
At the bottom of the documentation ([Map | Appfarm Documentation](https://docs.appfarm.io/library/ui-components/map)
), there is a section called Layer Type: Map. This section is relevant for adding different layers to the map.
It is possible to connect a satellite layer from Mapbox by setting it up as a layer in your own Mapbox Studio account ([Console | Mapbox](https://console.mapbox.com/studio/)). Create a style in Mapbox and then set this style URL in the “File” property in the map component in Appfarm.
Just remember that you also need to add [api.mapbox.com](http://api.mapbox.com) as an Image Source in the Environment Settings.
