# Is it possible to add custom icons?

Is it possible to add a custom icon to the icon picker from Resource Files?

Unfortunately not, but you might add these icons as images to the Files section in Create, and then use them either in the Image UI Component or as background images on containers.

Hi,

Not in the short term. Since it has an alternative solution (using images), and is no quickfix, it’s not on top of the priority list currently.

Hi! Any updates on this? We do use the image workaround in several projects, but it adds a lot of extra work (both development and maintenance) - especially for buttons/icon buttons where we have to recreate hover/focus states, and often end up with quite a bit of conditional styling when the design requires multiple button variants (ref. my question here: [Custom icons in buttons](https://community.appfarm.io/t/custom-icons-in-buttons/2221)).
