Is it possible to add custom icons?

Hi! Any updates on this? We do use the image workaround in several projects, but it adds a lot of extra work (both development and maintenance) - especially for buttons/icon buttons where we have to recreate hover/focus states, and often end up with quite a bit of conditional styling when the design requires multiple button variants (ref. my question here: Custom icons in buttons).
