Set data source attributes on runtime sources not possible

Hi

I am trying to use a “Set data source attributes” action node on a runtime data source to enable/disable “initially skip function properties”, but it’s seemingly not possible? If this is intentional, then what is the purpose of having “Initially skip function properties” available as an option at all?

Hi,

It is intended behavior at this time that this action node is only available for database connected data sources. The intention behind the action node is to improve performance, and as a general rule the data sources with highest load and biggest “need” for optimization are database connected. Function properties on database connected data sources will recalculate for all objects every time there is a change to one object, which can lead to bad performance in a data source with thousands of objects.

There is an internal feature request to expand the action node to include runtime data sources as well, which I have updated to say that there is a wish from the Community for the feature.

I was aiming at the purpose of “initially skip function properties” as an option on runtime data sources, when it’s not possible to control it as an attribute. E.g. why would i add function properties, then tick off “initially skip function properties” if i’m not able to re-enable it. Having it as an option, i would expect to be able to control it in the same way i can on data base connected sources, so that is what threw me off in the first place.

Good to hear that its noted as a feature request!

We understand that this is confusing! This is noted as part of the feedback and reasons for the feature request.
