Add currency symbols in value processor to remaining currencies

Hi,

I was wondering if you were planning to add currency symbols to the remaining currencies in the value processor?

In the value processor, I am able to select the following options, but only NOK, GBP and EUR will show a currency symbol. The other will instead default to the three letter abbreviation. Could you also add the currency symbol to USD, in addition to adding the “kr” symbol to DKK and SEK as well?

The results ends up looking a little weird when viewing multiple currencies with the current configuration:

Hi,

and thank you for your feedback! I have registrered this as a challenge internally.

Hi Theo,

Can I get some more details on this one?
What is your localization settings? Where are you using Value Processor (text, table, updateObject, etc)

On my machine, the $-icon is used.

Thanks,
Erik

I quickly tested, and it appears to be the “Number Format” in the Internationalization in Create that is the reason.

I have added an example with the same value using both Norwegian and US number format.

Norwegian number format:

US number format:

The issue now is that if I use the US number format, then the NOK will no longer have the kr symbol:

Similarily if I use the GB format, then the USD changes to this:

I know that different cultures have different approaches to number formatting, and it makes sense that the US users would call it $, whereas UK users would say US$ (in addition to the fact that some cultures use the currency mark as a prefix, rather than suffix), but I think it would make sense if there is consistency within the same localization so we don’t end up with some currencies having a symbol whereas other have the three-letter abbreviation.

Ideally, the value processor could maybe give us the option to either display the symbol or three-letter abbr., but I will let you guys decide what you think makes most sense
