I have noticed that the dev environment often displays “this is taking a bit longer than expected”. Reloading solves the issue. Right now I am stuck in that state and devtools shows no activity. I have experienced this in two different solutions, and it started happening about a week ago, after the kubernetes issue, so maybe related to the fix?
Its not a huge issue, (but slightly annoying) as long as it doesnt happen in prod…
screenshot attached showing the issue.
And while I got your attention, I would love to see some improvements in the automatic log-out of create logic. More often than I like I am logged out of appfarm whilst in the middle of something. I think this happens daily. (“you have been logged out of Appfarm” is displayed)
thank you for reporting the issue. We experienced some instability in the solutions, which has now been resolved (see here for details). Please let me know if you still experience your reported issue.
As for the automatic log-out issue in Create, this will be addressed with the upcoming implementation of MFA, which is scheduled for release soon.
I’ve checked this internally, and there hasn’t been any underlying change in the app’s behavior or performance; this is just a new message we recently introduced to keep users informed when the app takes longer to load.
While it may seem like the app is slower, the loading time could be the same as before, but the message now makes it more noticeable.
Please feel free to reach out if you notice anything further.
Hi
This issue is still happening. I have seen it today in two different solutions. Loading takes more than 15 seconds (before the app starts loading at all). In the end it finally loaded on one solution on the other i pressed reload after a long time (and then it instantly loads)
I can read the message “dette tar lenger tid enn forventet” while waiting.
In the BJ solution I tried launching apps from shortcuts made on iphone. in the prod env I got the message: “Kan ikke laste app” Kan ikke laste gjeldende app, kontakt kundestøtte for videre hjelp".
This page also needs a reload as the user has to manually close the app.
Trying again shows (as always!) that it reloads fine. The issue is that these issues with apps failing to load as they should provides a very bad user experience. Loading the second or third time always works so there is something happening on the first server connection that makes it hang or fail.
That message (this is taking longer than usual) is just a new feature, displaying some message instead of nothing while the app data loads (until the on app load action is running).
We do not have any incidents in general related to this.
Suggestion:
Start with the console logs or dev tools first (the advanced debugging, allowing you to see the size of the data requests might help also), it is also possible to debug the iphone pwa from your mac/pc to get the console logs.
reach out to your appfarm contact for further assistance, e.g. time and date and in which solutions this happens (and: prod or dev? On mobile and PC?), and we’ll inspect internal logs. In an email or DM.
The loading of apps from shortcuts: removing the shortcut and adding again: does it solve the “cannot load app” problem?
